  • 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds (toasted)
  • 1 tablespoon of Korean red pepper paste or gochujang
  • Small Asian/Korean pear (peeled and coarsely grated)
  • 2 green onions (sliced finely)
  • 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil

Preparation:

Preparing the BBQ Korean beef bulgogi is quite easy. It will not take much time to prepare and barbecue. Follow these steps to prepare it:

Step 1: First start by wrapping the beef steak in a plastic wrap and then place it in the freezer. After 30 minutes, take it out and unwrap it. Then slice the steak across the grain into thin slices (about ¼ inch).

Step 2: Take a medium bowl and combine the soy sauce, pear, sesame oil, brown sugar, ginger, red pepper paste and garlic.

Step 3: Now take a Ziploc bag and put in the steak along with the soy sauce mixture that you just prepared. Marinate the steaks properly and keep it overnight. It is better if you can turn the bag occasionally.

Step 4: Now you have to heat the vegetable oil in one cast iron grill pan. Use the medium-high heat for this. You have to now start to work in batches.

Step 5: Start adding some of the marinated beef steaks to the grill pan in one single layer and cook it. Flip it once and keep it until it is cooked and charred. Keep for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Repeat these with the rest of the pieces too.
